Why should you join or volunteer for this 5K/1Mile event? 

This fun, community-focused event is a great way to support Marklund and raise awareness for the amazing programs we offer. On April 26, we’ll gather in Elgin for a morning full of energy—local food, music, and great company! 

Whether you're a seasoned runner aiming for a new personal best or just looking to enjoy a walk with friends, there’s a place for you. New to running? Try the 1 Mile fun run—it’s a great way to get started in a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Bring your family and friends, fundraise together, or cheer each other on! All participants get a commemorative medal, and top finishers receive an exclusive award medal. 

Register by March 13 to get a special event sweatshirt! Every step you take helps support Marklund’s mission—and 100% of net proceeds go directly to making a difference. There’s something for everyone.
