Exciting News: YEP Is Growing in the Fox River Valley

The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is excited to announce the expansion of its Youth Engagement in Philanthropy (YEP) program to Northern Kane County.

Since 2019, YEP has provided high school students in Kane and Kendall Counties with opportunities to learn about philanthropy, serve their communities, and make a meaningful impact. The program has traditionally met in Aurora, and now, starting this fall, students will have two meeting location options: Aurora and the Elgin area.

This expansion will make it easier for students in the northern part of our service area to participate while helping the Foundation extend the reach of this important leadership program across the Fox River Valley.

The new YEP North group will serve students in Northern Kane County and the Tri-Cities, while YEP South will continue to serve students in Aurora, Western Kane County, and Kendall County. YEP South meetings will continue to be held monthly at the Foundation’s office in Aurora.

Applications for the 2026–2027 school year are now open on our website through May 30. Students may apply for their preferred meeting location and will be notified in June.

Please share this opportunity with high school students and families who may be interested. Contact Nikki Lay at nlay@cffrv.org or 630-896-7815 with any questions.
